Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Zerta, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our app.
Zerta is intended for use by qualified electricians and electrical contractors in the United Kingdom who are familiar with BS 7671 requirements and electrical safety standards.
App Purpose
Zerta is a mobile application designed to help UK electricians create, store, and share BS 7671-compliant electrical certificates. The app provides:
- Offline-first certificate creation and storage
- Generation of BS 7671-compliant PDF certificates
- Local data storage with user control
- Optional paid features for enhanced functionality
The app is designed to assist but not replace professional judgment. Users remain fully responsible for ensuring all certificates are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable regulations.
User Responsibilities
As a user of Zerta, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring you are qualified and competent to issue electrical certificates
- Maintaining the accuracy and completeness of all certificate data
- Complying with BS 7671 and all relevant UK electrical regulations
- Keeping your app and device secure to protect certificate data
- Using the app in accordance with these terms and applicable laws
Certificate Review and Sign-off
Before submitting any certificate to clients, you must:
- Thoroughly review all certificate details for accuracy and completeness
- Verify that all test results and observations are correctly recorded
- Ensure the certificate complies with BS 7671 requirements
- Confirm you are satisfied with the certificate's content and validity, in terms of data input, its calculations, and compliance with BS 7671
- Only submit certificates you are professionally competent and confident to issue
You acknowledge that the final responsibility for certificate accuracy and compliance rests with you as the issuing electrician.
You acknowledge that Zerta is a tool to assist in certificate creation and that you remain professionally and legally responsible for all certificates you issue using the app.
Payment and Account Management
Zerta offers free and paid features.
Payments are processed through Google Play Store. All sales are final and no refunds will be issued except as required by applicable law or Google Play's refund policy.
Limitation of Liability
Zerta is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We make no warranties about the accuracy or completeness of certificate content
- We are not liable for any professional negligence, errors, or omissions in certificates
- We are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from app use
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the app (if any)
You remain solely responsible for the professional accuracy and legal compliance of all certificates you issue.
Intellectual Property
Zerta and all its content, features, and functionality are owned by Zerta and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the app without our express written permission.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to Zerta immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the app will cease, but these terms shall remain in effect.
Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
